Dear all,
As many of you will already have heard, just over a week ago the archery clubhouse was the victim of an arson attack which essentially destroyed the clubhouse totally. The storage container is still intact, but the contents have suffered heat damage which has destroyed the majority of the training bows.
A photo of the damage can be seen here
The committee will be sending out a letter outlining our options going forwards shortly, however please rest assured the club will continue!
What does this mean in the short term? - while some of the targets are damaged, we do have four that are usable right now, so existing members & trainees please continue to come down on Tuesday/Thursday evenings as per normal. We are short on training bows so trainees may need to share the use of a bow.
We will not be able to take on any new starters for the remainder of this year due to the equipment issues, but we intend to take on new members at the start of the outdoor season next year (April). Anybody who is interested in starting/trying out archery, please bear with us as we recover from this setback and remember to contact us again at the start of next year!
