CLUB INFORMATION

Formed in 1984 when a group of like-minded enthusiasts attended a beginners course at the local college, Grantham Archery Club has grown into one of the foremost archery clubs in Lincolnshire. Through the intervening years the club has gone from strength to strength and now has a permanent archery field complete with its own clubhouse.
Formed primarily as a recurve archery club we now cater for recurve, compound, barebow and longbow archers. With one qualified coache and access to national coaches we are able to offer a wide range of people the chance to try the sport of archery and to this end have had both wheelchair and blind archers as members. The club has a muti-age range of members from 8 years upwards and beginners have the full use of the clubs equipment.
Over the years we have had considerable success in competitions with both senior and junior members representing both the county and the region. We actively encourage our members to take part in internal and external competitions that are run throughout the year.

Club Equipment
Over the last four years the club has progressively been replacing most of its old stock of equipment. This was greatly helped in May 2005 when the club was awarded a grant of £2200 from Sport Relief run by Lincolnshire Community Foundation. This enabled us to finally complete the purchase of new style foam bosses for both indoor and outdoor use along with an additional 12 new beginner's bows bringing our stock of `new` bows to well over 20. These bows are now use by beginner's of all ages until they feel ready to purchase there own equipment
